ANOTHER COUNTRYSIDE IS POSSIBLE
Memory Lane
Past stories as the base for agency and future vision.
Khatereh Javid, Lora Gremeaux, Nanditha Gangadhara, Paulene Kaiser
The project intends to counteract the risks of identity loss and the lack of non-commercial social spaces, as well as to support the preservation of oral history and the development of future collective memories. The project’s long term goal is to remind and inspire the residents of Ullared about their community and the power they have over their village, their agency. The Memory Lane consists of movable and flexible modules that can be brought to a location in the village and arranged in different ways to create an open space for events with exhibitions and discussions, and a base, located in and outside of the Mötesplats facility, whose main function is to store the Modules over time, prepare events and exhibitions and gather before the happenings.
