''Flytande Rött’’ is a boat housing project designed to seamlessly blend with the
tranquil, traditional Swedish charm of Väjern. Extending the town’s core toward the
open sea offers a sustainable and harmonious solution to living on water, preserving
the picturesque serenity of the area while embracing modern design and functionality.
The project redefines one of the harbour areas with a system of sculptural floating
docks that mimic the natural coastline and function as integrated wave attenuators,
creating a calm local environment for the housing units. Flytande Rött aims to provide
Sotenäs’ youth with a place to live and grow while also inviting newcomers to the area,
ensuring the continuity and vitality of Väjern as a thriving community.
